It is over on Europe Server as far as I can tell.

Those who stayed up long enough could witness the last shut-down of HG:L. Most players had gathered in Stonehenge and on the minute of 6 am GMT, or midnight CST, did Hellgate: London prompt with an unknown network error and refused any further connection attempts.

Yes, even the webpage is gone.

Feels like it was just launched yesterday, when I got really hyped up about the game, cannot concentrate on work and rushed to the launch site to get my CE box. Ran home and played the game for a full 4 hours.

This game will always have a place in my heart.

The end itself was fun actually. People were throwing lots of money into the war drive and there were up to 6 different effects active all at the same time. In the picture, which was taken in the last minute, you still can see three effects below the mini-map and next to the hardcore sign. The effects were so strong - +25% experience points, +1000% on all defences, +400% energy, and others - that it did not make any further sense to put points into the stats or to choose what armour to wear. I played for about 8 hours yesterday only to see the end and there were always some effects active. And always with a message in huge letters about another donation meeting the war drive's limit while one was fighting ...

nice pic Ahriman ... yeah I was in hell with a couple fiends trying to fight nm syd. we had killed all the lies except rash. he would port in and then immediately leave. so we just stayed in hell 'till the end. sad to see this game end.

If only there had been more epic cut scenes then those silly books. I can't even bring myself to watch that awesome opening cinematic anymore though... it's hurts to imagine what could have been, had it been done right.

OH well, yay i was there at 12am shutdown too. The US servers promptly cut the connection on 12am CMT standard. I was kinda miffed too, cause i didn't step back to my afk game in time to say bye to my guildmates!! I went to make dinner, and ate while watching TV, not realizing the time, then 10:15pm hit (12:15pm CMT) when i finally noticed and was like OMFGWTFBBQ!!!1!1zor!!!

srsly, bummed i didnt getta chance to say so long to many folks in game.

I think a lot of the people haven't come over here because we've disabled registrations, and a lot of the people on those forums were never part of these ones prior to then...

ah, the final farwell to possably the best game ever... will diablo 3 even be as a shadow to this game... i doubt it...

The final second of hgl was gut wrenching, now we search to find answers to the hanibitsoft riddle.
