Did a search, couldn't find anything, so I'm sorry if its been mentioned.
But c'mon, for a game that could have great PvP in the future, having 1 point assigned to you with no choice is silly.
I suggest either starting at Lv0 or start at Lv1 and leave the point free.
Thanks.

Well, as much as I agree with you, your or my opinion won't be heard by FSS in this fora. :/

You can pretty much forget about that, FSS Mythos has had this same debate throughout their still lasting beta-phase about the first item being an item with a fixed skill and this debate has effectively been reduced to nothing by the famous "put your head in the sand skills" on the side of the developers.
It's highly likely they'll do the same on the part of HG:L.

Another way Diablo II is superiour to HG:L - you started out with an item giving you +1 to a certain skill.

How is that superior? It used to be that way in Hellgate, but everyone complained because when they switched out for a better weapon they no longer had access to their starting skill. Now they changed it so it is permanent, and people start complaining again.
Deal with it kids. People will complain about everything, it is impossible to make everyone happy.

Uh, duh.
Obviously because I can pick where to place my first skill point, instead of having it in a skill which I will never use or improve with more skill points.

It doesnt matter: It's currently impossible to make 49 usefull skill point choices so that one skill point wont do squat :)

Superior? That's such bull. It doesn't make D2 superior to Hellgate, just because you can't allocate 1 skillpoint. Why do people make up stuff like this? How can you even compare games due to a friggin skillpoint.

I never said Diablo 2 is superiour in general, merely pointing out that it is one aspect where it is(one amongst others), but in no way did I say something like what you are implying.
Don't get your knickers in a bunch, jeesh.

Not my implying, your choice of vocab.
Word: Superior
Function: Adjective
Definition:
1: situated higher up : upper
2: of higher rank, quality, or importance
You could of quoted you liked the feature better. But instead you chose the word superior. For example:
"Another way Diablo II is superiour to HG:L"

People assume that because the skill from the item is a hard point now, they deserve to spend it elsewhere. Nevermind that it was a hard point that never existed in the first place... (am I rite?)
