This might go hand-in-hand with the introductions thread, but it could be nice in a new thread.
So my gaming history involves extended lengths of Counter-Strike, Diablo 2 and Guild Wars. Other than those, I've played most top-sellers over the past couple years, and my gaming goes back to when I was 6 years old when I was diddling around on our family 386 playing Captain Comic and Treasure Mountain :D
I'm currently into Guild Wars as well as GunZ. Guild Wars being a Competitive RPG and GunZ being an acrobatic third-person-shooter.
How about you guys?

I play Guild Wars occasionally, though I've been rather busy working on this site and a bunch of other sites. It's not as good as I expected, but hopefully ArenaNet will improve it in due time.
Besides Guild Wars, I'm playing a bit of Total Annihilation (a classic!) and that's about it. My gaming history involves plenty of hours spent on the likes of Diablo 2, Diablo, Fallout, and Deus Ex. I've been a gamer for over a decade, but those are the games that I remember most fondly.

Ah, you know.. Got into gaming when I played the original Prince of Persia, SkiFree, and some Mario game on a neighbour's computer back in the day.. Since then, I've been playing a lot of games, but mainly First Person Shooters and CRPGs.
I've not really been playing a whole lot 'lately, and I'm still supposed working on beating all those old games I've got in my cupboard of doom, but I tend to end up playing the old Build Engine games or Fallout/Arcanum/PS:T instead. Yeah, I know.. I'm a horrible, horrible person.
And fluffy Donkeys.

Been gaming as far back as I can remember. My first memorable game is Space Invaders, but the one that really brought me into gaming was the original Diablo. StarCraft was my first major RTS and was a major past time for the longest time. My RTS section is rather lacking these days as most the newer ones don't interest me enough to spend my money, but I've followed strongly with RPGs and a few FPS. I'm mostly a computer buff, but I'm not opposed to console systems at all. Like some of the others here I've recently come from Guild Wars which is enough to tide me over til I'm raking in the cash again.

I'd play Gunz Online but I'm one of the people suffering from the 999 ping bug. They said they'd fix it weeks ago, but that hasn't happened yet. More's the pity, because the game looks fairly interesting.

Half-life, Civ 2, and Starcraft started me on PC gaming. Before that Super Mario was pretty much the only thing I played. Right now I'm playing through Elder Scrolls III again. Also occasionally playing CounterStrike:Source, Warhammer 40K Dawn of War, and Guild Wars.

Hmmm....kind of a long story to tell on this one from my perspective. So if you wish, stay awhile and listen. :D (sorry, I couldn't help but steal Decert Cain's line here).
The first video game I played was Super Mario Brothers 3 for the NES system back when I was in 4th grade. A friend of my dad bought my brother and I an NES system, which came with a copy of SMB3. We enjoyed it quite a bit and played through it alot. The nest NES game was a Tom and Jerry game, and that game we liked alot and played through it alot. My dad would at times visit a flea market every summer and we were able to buy NES games at great prices there, so we stocked up on a whole bunch of them. A few years later we had gotten was a SNES, and the first game for that system was Super Mario World. After that we would buy alot of games for it, and we were still buying and playing NES games as well. Then in late 1995 my parents had bought a PC and the first PC Game we played was Descent. And it was one of the few PC games we played. That and Descent 2, and we rarely ever played any other game. Though we enjoyed the Descent series we were still into consoles and bought and played SNES games exclusively. Things were like this until 1998 when I started weening away from the SNES. I found myself turning to the PC alot more often and favoring it alot more. From 1998 till late 1999 I mainly bought and played many of the old games I missed out on, such as the Doom Series, Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Blood, Shadow Warrior, Heretic, the Hexen series, and many other popular 1st person PC games. Unfortunatly since the only PC we had was the P100 class it was starting to definatly show it's age, and I found myself limited to only getting games that could be played on that system. So in 1999, I decided to save up for a new PC.
And this is where I became a true PC Gamer for good. In december of 1999 I managed to save up enough to go and buy a PC, and I started to get all the games that I missed out on Suck as Quake 2 & 3, Half-Life, the Unreal series, Descent 3, and a whole bunch of others. However, before we tried out many of these games I would try them out on a Demo CD. Just before I had gotten the new PC my Brother went and downloaded a whole bunch of demos and burnt them on a CD from school. One of the demos he had gotten was Diablo. The game was so interesting I had went and bought the game, despite it being old. The game was quite tricky but I managed to go through it. Even though I was a fan of Diablo and I liked the game alot I found myself playing FPS games much of the time, until Diablo 2 was released. Man, this game was *REAL* big!! I couldn't get the game until the beginning of July in 2000 since my local Hastings kept running out of coppies. I was finally able to buy it and my brother and I became hooked. Hooked? Hell, we were addicted like a bunch of crack addicts to the game! All the way until the fall of 2001 we played Diablo 2 most of the time and rarely bought and played any other game, even other RPG games. Then around fall of 2001 we played the game sooooo many times I got a little tired of it, so I decided to try to find another RPG game to get into. I had heard about Baldur's Game 2 from PG Gamer magazine and hearing that it was an RPG Game and had high praises I decided to go and buy the game. This was kind of a big gamble for me. I knew nothing of D&D, wasn't familiar with D&D 2nd edition rules, and I had never tried the demo. So when I had bought it and played it I was a bit confused and almost gave up on the game, but I stuck with it as much as I could. I got use to the rules and understood them, and I became hooked to the game! I then went and bought other D&D PC Games as well, such as Icewind Dale, Icewind Dale 2, the origional Baldur's Gate, and Neverwinter Nights.
Then at the summer of 2003 I had switched back to FPS games, but this time World War 2 FPS games. I had became increasingly interested in World War 2 history, and as such I went and had bought Medal of Honor Allied Assault. And after that it's expansion Spearhead. Then about a couple of months later I tried out the Call of Duty demo and I was hooked! It was not like any other FPS games and I found myself heavily anticipating this game alot. Even though it was released at late October of 2003 I had eventually recieved it for christmas that year. Around the summer of 2004 I went back into D&D RPGs when I bought the Neverwinter Nights expansion Hordes of the Underdark and Shadows of Undertide. But this only lasted for a few months and I got back into WW2 FPS games when I had gotten the expansion for Call of Duty, as well as Medal of Honor Pacific Assault and Brothers in Arms. However, right now I'm into all sorts of PC Games and it's a mixed bag for me, kinda like back at 2000.
And in a nutshell, that's my history with Video Games. When October comes, it'll be my 10th year of PC Gaming.

Ever since I bought Ultima VII, it's been strictly single-player RPGs for me really with some turn-based strategy games thrown in. Action games have never really appealed to me.
As for what I'm playing right now...
*As always and forever, Ultima VII
*The perennial fan-favorite, Fallout
*Enjoying the rich atmosphere of the Gothic games
*Unbeliveably misunderstood and underrated kung-fu rpg, Prince of Qin
and finally
*I'm conquering the galaxy with my army of diplomats in Galatic Civilizations

Wow, that's a long story.
Well, it all started with Dendy. Played stuff like Flinstones, Mario Bros, etc.
Then we got Sega. The games I really loved then were: Dune, Battletoads (one of the hardest games ever made), Mortal Kombat, Deser/Urban/Jungle Strike and others.
And then I saw a computer game for the first time in my bro's office. The first game I played on it was Prehistoric ^_^
Then, upon my continuous visits to bro's office, i came to know other games. One of them was THE GREATEST STARCRAFt, and before that - Warcraft2.
Good times...
Then I got a computer meself. Then started a time of thousands of games... That time here in Kazakhstan you couldn't find ANY licensed games, only pirates. But there was an abundance of them, so we didn't hesitate to buy and share. We played so many games that I can't even remember them all.
But of course, for me the following games really matter so much:
- Total annihilation
- Starcraft (+BW) - hands down, the best RTS ever. One of my msot favorite games, of course. Played quite professionally once, but not only the gameplay/strat side was cool. The story and campaign were just the best i've ever seen in RTS.
- Diablo II (played D1 only a little, at friend's), What can I say? This is a truely immortal game. I've played it since release, and actually continued playing to this day, with large or small pauses, but still played on. It's just.... unfathomable miracle, this game.
- Icewind Dale - 'twas my first RPG (albeit linear). It sparked my love for DnD.
- Baldur's Gate 2 - got it right after IWD. That is one of my most favorite RPGs ever. LOVE it so much, that i can't describe it... just WHOO!
- Fallout 2 - right after finishing BG2 I got meself this beauty. WE couldn't find the Fo1 back then, so I played FO2 first. Damn i almost hated it at first - because of that darn Temple of Trials... I remember calling my friend (who gave it to me) and saying "What the fuck? Is it me, or the game's total crap?!" He said "Don't worry, just finish the trial" And when I did, the real game started. It was like a fucking new world for me to explore. Just great, I mean it's the most free RPG i've ever seen. It took me about 7-8 walkthrus to actually get bored.
Deus Ex - great RPG. the dark, gritty atmosphere, solid plot, good dialogs, and even nonlinearty: a pure RPG, despite having FPS combat.
Fallout 1 at last, found it. Not nearly as freeform as FO2, but had some very good plot and the best ending evah! Although it took me once to get bored, tho.
Planescape: Torment - also was hard to find it. My friend sent me it from abroad. The best writing in the game, hands down. The dialogs were just astounding, both by sheer quantity and quality. And the plot... the game's a legend.
WarCraft III - before that i was playing SC quite seriously, but right when WC3 went gold, my bro sent it from USA. I was totally adicted. We started playing it very seriously, attended tournaments etc etc
WarCraft III: TFT as soon as it was released, i bought it. That's when the game really started. The exp.pack. fixed the overly-imbalanced war3 issues, and then the patches really did the job - now the game is reaching SC level.
after winning several local tourneys, i quit it... just too time-consuming.
Of course, there other great games, and now are, but i'm already tired of writing it all, and not really thinking that somebody is that interested anyway.
