Since Hunters are ex-spec ops soldiers they should have the ability to wear tactical vests over their armor. I don't if something like that will be possible but bascially it would allow the wearer to carry a few more smaller items and pistols. Other than that it would look cool. Think of Solid Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear game and you'll know what I mean. He's got similar futuristic armor but he's still wearing combat webbing/tactical vest over it.

The tactical vest is an early armor (Lvl. 5 or so) you can wear. Later you'll get much better armor. Combat webbing/tactical vest is only helping to wear the equipment you need - its no armor...

Well yeah I know that. I'm just saying you should still be able to wear tactical vests over armor (soldiers today do that over kevlar armor) for the purpose of carrying more things not for gaining extra armor.

Lets me put it his way: Holsters, pouches for ammo, additional armorplates i've already seen in the Beta, but no combat webbing or tactical vests ('til Lvl 21).

It might be possible at a later point in the game, but i'm not sure about that.

I don't mean to sound sarcastic here but...what's the purpose then? To have a larger personal inventory? or just for looks?

Off topic abit but i dunno how he/she breathes thru that thing, shayera...(referring to ur avatar) hehe.

IRT OP:

I think hes referring to another layer of armor...like if anyone of you have played Anarchy Online, they can wear another layer of armor above their currently worn armor...over there, its popularly called "tank" armor (i think).

I've got no idea either... But thats the newest helmet of my char. ;)

@ Gravel

Yesterday i got an armor which looked like a thick flakjacket with a tactical vest on top of it. This one is for the engineer (but a MM can wear it) and i found it at lvl. 18.

I got into beta 2 days ago and have a lvl 11 Engineer already. I have noticed that some of the armour does have the tactical vest type thing, allthough it doesn't hold anything other than a few pouches, just for the look of it.

Level 15+ you start finding Quartermaster armor that comes with a full molle webbing set. They'll even have a VHF com system on the back, and several other pouches. It looks great, and I've seen some level 20+ that even has a cross drawl rig attached.

The trade off is quartermaster armor, is all Armor and no shielding. Which enacts a high strength requirement to it.

----

Just to explain the different armors i've seen for hunter:

Recruit: Basic, low requirements and should last you to level 10-20. Usually a fair amount of shielding and a low - medium amount of armor.

Military: Tactical armor that comes in camo patterns, looks to be more concentrating on form fitting armor, that allows for good movement. Requires more stamina and gives you a fair amount of shielding and med - low amounts of armor.

Riflemen: Hard plated tactical armor. Looks more organic combined with form fitting armor, and what would be an exoskeleton. Requires more Accuracy, and gives large amounts of shielding and no - low armor.

Quartermaster: Tactical webbing armor. Mid levels appears to have webbing and pockets, with plenty of boot knives, and thigh rigs. Requires more Strength and gives a medium amount of armor with no to low shielding.
