I've read that accuracy is going to improve critical hit chance (which I understand as head shots), but I am confused about when you are in first person view will your damage be determined by accuracy or by you aiming for headshots. I guess it's a question about damage done dealing with your current stats or your ability to aim. If any beta players could give their two cents it would be greatly appreciated

No headshots

<--- Non-beta person, so take this with a grain of salt.

Monsters have a hit box. If your shot is in the hit box, congrats, you hit the monster. Doesn't matter whether you hit the monster's toes or head, makes no difference. Weapons have a built-in crit chance, and your accuracy (i think) increases the crit damage, maybe the crit chance.

To sum up: The player's accuracy determines the actual hit. The character's accuracy stat determines the crit (and helps with controlling the targeting reticle, I believe).

Don't know for sure because I'm just going on screenshots and videos.

I was sure that I had heard it was possible to miss a monster even if you had the crosshair over it, due to your stats being too low. However, this sounds much much better. Hope it's true...

shame head shots don't give critical hit bonuses or something.

The game is based on the skills of the character, not the player.

Well, beyond aiming your rifle at the large demon shape charging at you.

aye, shame that.

still, the marksman looks to be my favorite class already.

Marksman seems to be like a sniper with semi-auto aim. The ultimate in luxury ownage.

agreed, marksman seems to be the person away from mob as party (or solo) you take pot shots at it from afar with either your sniper or other arange of ownage rifles. marksman deffenently looks to be the favorite. lets just hope not to many other people think the same way

i liked how this worked. I didn't think I would in the demo, but it is cool, especially if you get to a high level and your reticle stays smal so it is like you are shooting right were you are aiming. I ran through that damn demo 7 times hoping to try out a sniper rifle. O well.

shouldn't run threw it 7 times, just run between the 3 area's and they'll respawn monsters for ya on level 5. if that doesn't work exit the game and enter it again the the station. all mobs are back then. i found me a green and normal fireblade (green one had 43 fire damage).

anyways i also found a rocket pistol, which in tactical stance moved the reticle inside the little circle. so i'd imaigne at 50 recoil won't be much of an issue anymore :P i really liked the way they have done it, though i'd expected the reticle to grow and shrink smoothly rather then in steps like it seems to do now.

anybody else have a mouse problem by the way? the slower i move my G5 mouse, the less the game seems to pick it up. up close and personal i'm moving alot so then it's all good but i often had to move my mouse across my entire pad if i wanted to move a millimeter on screen when calibrating a shot. extremely annoying.

I actually had to rollback to an older setpoint build so... yea there's prolly a bug about that.

I like how it works.
Just remember it's an RPG hybrid game. In Diablo it didn't matter where you hit the monster just that you hit it. Same thing here just a different weapon (marksman anyway) and a different view (first person). The chance to crit was/is just a "roll of the dice" based on your character's stats.

Getting your accuracy up will make your crosshair enlarge slower as well as restoration faster, so you won't start randoming shots after half a dozen.

Dunno if you will know what i'm talking about, i'm not 100% perfect in english yet :P
