Is there a cold damage tree available for any of the classes? It seems like the natural counter to fiery demons.

Nope!
It was a conscious decision by Flagship Studios to not have cold damage.

I liked cold damage in D2, but It makes it makes hitting frozen enemies too easy I would think.

:( I was looking forward to freezing hell's minions and then smashing them to pieces.

Ya it is suprising that there isn't cold damage in the game. It is something that you would consider that should be in the game. Oh well.
Maybe they will have Super Soaker's for water damage against fiery demons :). SUPER SOAKER 5000 FTW.

Personally, I would have liked it as well.
I'm guessing there was some logistical error in keeping the ice weaponry and spells from sublimating (going directly from ice to water vapor, skipping its liquid state) in the bowels of hell.

I would like to see cold damage vs. monsters but not vs. you
There are issues with balance in pvp and stuff, but PvE couldn't be too hard
Maybe no freezing potential, but perhaps you're character tints slightly light blue with maybe snow flakes shooting off and have a movement speed delay
Ice damage being lowered/ more mana required to balance with the slowing stat

I believe cold skill tree could make a good addition to evoker as ongoing content.
New skills are included in the p2p feature right?

New skills are included in the p2p feature right?Well, it could be an extra class addition as well. Maybe a curse/cold Cabalist. I'd play one.

What's a movement speed delay? You mean just slower movement? I hate that in pvp.

Yeah I've been wishin for cold damage too :(
Have loved cold damage in games, from MK Sub Zero, to Blizz Sorcs in D2 and many other games... Ice dmg ftw!
Hopefully they will add it in at some stage later...

Lol, I fucking hate when rpgs have water earth and nature damage in them. Like wtf is that gonna do?! "Hey guys I'll just throw rocks and splash water!"

Hmm. Rocks are heavy. They gonna leave a mark!
Water can be cold and extinguish fire (at least very aching for hellspawns?) or hurt with a lot of pressure (magic!).
Nature? I don't know... besides thorns and toxic I can't imagine something useful.
I miss my frost orb, but it's good that not in every game the magicians are only elementarists.

Pretty sure its a concious decision not to allow many movement affecting spells period. Cold effects are expected to have such, so they were left out. In most MMO's and games of this nature, "kiteing" is a very effective and overused tactic to take on multiple targets or kill mobs that you would normally never be able to take down. Not implementing movement debilitating effects jumps a hurdle they won't have to jump later when the player base figures out how to abuse them.
*sniff* to think it all started with a 15 mana snare spell and drones of doom!

Thats why I said this;

I would hate to see that in PvP as well, but PvE is fine I'd say
