We've had class threads before, but I want to get an opinion of those that will eventually try the Cabalist, even if it may not be the first Faction that you try...
So if you do intend to try a Cabalist, which class do you prefer?
Personally I love the Evoker. I love the idea of a Glass Canon that can deal massive damage and always has to be on the lookout for danger :)

If I was going to make one it would be summoner. I was always a necro fan in D2 and there is nothing like sitting back and have swarms of minions doing the work.

Its a real hard decision but I came down to Evoker, but I will make a summoner later :D whichever you pick you can always make the other later :D
Have to agree with exploding elementals

Whatever class is closest to necro. ie: summoner. I'm looking down the road for when I'm level 80 and controlling some crazy scary demon lords.

I think the level cap is 50 :-) Damn..don't make these kind of treads! They give me a headache. It's too hard for me to choose. :-)

I'd play an evoker any day. The more interactive a class is, the more enjoyable they are for me to play. Which will be more powerful, however, remains to be seen. But that's often times not a deciding factor for me.

Summoner, because I just love massive amounts of allies. And the explosive elements thing is just awesome.

Evoker, i want to be fully able of comitting murder of the most gruesome kind without the need of accomplices. Same reason i'm going for a Marksman at first instead of Engineer. Always prefeered the classes that focus on active skills and buffs that increase their own performance.

Transformation Cabalist...I'm still torn between Evoker/Summoner because the class I want isn't out yet. For one of my HC character I think I'll be making a Summoner because of the survivability that comes with minions. And Evoker for HC/SC PvP...So I guess Evoker...

i realy am torn between the 2. i voted evoker, but it realy depends on the guns to whenther i pick summoner straight away, yes its strange but using a incinerating grenade launcher from the back row while my minions take the front is goin to be more fun than spaming corpse explosion imho ;D

Summomers can enrage their pet and they get bigger, uglier, scarier and more powerful... Picture that spell on a Reaper or something.
But Evokers are cool also.

Actually, I think you can only use Enrage on the carnagor. It's one of those pet skills where you need the specific pet in order to use the skill (just like you need a Fiend Priest to take over demons). Evokers always seem to act like summoners just sit around doing nothing, watching their demons tear up the opponents, but I'm really looking forward to the strategizing necessary for keeping up my demon army (healing them to keep them alive, summoning new pets, optimizing use of the previously mentioned pet skills, sacrificing health for mana, all the while using my guns to weaken the opponents even more). Summoner all the way for me.

Maybe Carnagors arn't the only pets you can use the spell on, lots of things are still hidden.
Anyway, Look at City of Villains. Almosted everyone loved to be the summomer class (Mastermind) and Cabalist Summoners will feel same but better, since your forcing your enemies to fight eachother. :D

Im so surprised at this poll.... from past polls it seemed to me that the Evoker was by far the favourite...
That's cool that it's this closely split though, means more classes to be seen running around the game :D

The most popular classes always seem be the obvious power classes, but do not ask me why, it just is. The least are support classes (aka healers, buffers) and awkward, unique classes (like beastmaster in FFXI, man was that a rare class to see.)
This time around when the game actually comes about, the general populace will likely choose evoker or marksman. At least, that is my prediciton.
As time passes on hopefully there will be more balanced numbers, but power classes always get the most attention, at least at first.
Rouges in wow are a good example of this, there are a billion of them, and when FFXI first came out Dark Knights littered the streets crying about not being able to get a party because everyone was the same as they.
I know this is a far different game, but I think my prediction will still be accurate. We'll have to wait and see, heh.

I dunno, I see a lot of support for the guardian class, which strikes me somewhat more of a support class than a power class (although the argument could be made that it is a power class, as it has the power to wander into mobs of demons and come out alive on the other side).

I'd consider guardian a support class as well, and I noticed there's a lot of interest in it, but there's a lot of interest in summoner and engineer as well. All the classes are done well, I'm just saying when the game is released and a lot of the non-community players pick up the game we'll probably see mostly hunters and evokers. Well, at first at least as I've said.
Once people get past the initial class description and see how classes actually play, I expect there will be some shifting going around, heh.

BEES IN THE EYES!!!
(Evoker: "Swarm - Throws out a swarm of bugs that do toxic damage and cause fear. The toxic swarm is a self-targeting homing projectile that chases baddies pretty much anywhere they go. If successfully poisoned by the attack, monsters cannot heal and will lose health continually. ")

Summoner or Necromancer has always been my first choice, with a mage like character a close second. :)

I'm probably going to play it like this:
Summoner - solo
Evoker - When I'm in a party mood
Just because having creating things and have other things to fight for you doesn't seem to be as fun as casting/targeting spells when your with other people. But that's just entirely my opinion

I have a feeling that parties are going to appreciate having a summoner or engineer in the group, to take some of the pressure off of them. I think I'll go with summoner first, but depending on how much fun I have with it, I might switch to evoker or blademaster.

I usually don't play DPS classes so I'm going for the Summoner.

I got your back on that one Geishe ^^ I figured people would go for Evoker, although im not suprised with people wanting to play summoner.
I've decided summoners will be a perfect choice for my first character. Mainly because I want a character to farm and that can go through the entire game with ease. (I know every character can solo the game :P)
To basicly (to steal a term from D2) Magic Find with in my spare time for alts and for profit.
Anywho I truely think Summoner is a great first pick for this goal. I'll be able to run through the game and or do bosses with ease, pick up some nifty gear, make some decent coin and that will set me up for the class I really want to play but seems like alot more work in a sense... That is the engineer :P As I've heard you can not only modify yourself. But you can modify your main droid and he slowly evolves as your character evolves which could be amazing. But why not have all the gear ready and waiting? ;P

The thing about summoner / engineer is that I am afraid that it will be gimp to uselessness once reaching the so call "Hell Mode". If they can be just as good as any other class, then Im all for the summoner otherwise evoker for me.

Its a possibility ^^ or Summoners and Engineers can be one of the most over powered classes in the game... Which is what I'm leaning twards...
I saw a video display of BR playing and discussing the game as he went through it. One thing I knoticed was that he was blowing through the level he was on.
And he even said, "This would normally be a bit more challengeing because I'm a bit high of a level to be here. But also because I'm an Engineer, I have my droids out which are takeing care of most of the monsters." ect...
Anyhow I think once its all done and said engineers are gonna be mighty over powered... Think of it in the aspect that you can use many different types of floating droids and a robot that you can equipt a gun too? now what if your lvl 50, a subscriber and have some of the best gun's in the game with the best mod's for them ect... and you equipt it to your robot? you'd be pretty bad ass and your robot/droids will make it childs play...
Just my oppinion ^^ not to mention you can stealth... And throw grenades...
As for Summon everything ive heard about the big red beast you get to summon... Makes me assume that you'll be able to run through the game with your normal demon spawns and elementals and when you run into tough times... You summon that bad boy and they are in for a world of hurt ;P

At first I was going to be an Evoker after playing a Marksman. Now I think Summoner (from what I've seen in the testing stages) is going to be my second choice. It will help when you're surrounded my many waves of enemies.
