Yeah, it looks pretty damn nice. The Hellknight at the end looks true to the game, too.

That happened to me for the Quicktime trailer but then I tried the Windows media trailer and that one worked.
About the trailer, I don't know. I probably wouldn't want to see it anyway. Doom doesn't have a good enough story to make a movie out of. Crappy story=Crappy movie. FPS's don't translate well into movies because they are all about action and less about story. Only good movies based on FPS's would be Halo and Half-life(I can dream can't I). Otherwise I wouldn't watch any movies on FPS's or any other games for that matter. Especially movies where the film developer has little or no contact with the game developer.
Besides the Rock isn't a very good actor. Just look at the picture on the site of him being interviewed at Comic-Con. Does he look like he wants to be there?

The Rock is a pretty down to earth guy, and you gotta remember, Pernicious, that WWE fans can be just as geeky as the people who visit ComicCon. Besides, the man's pranced around in only a pair of boots and tight underpants in front of millions, so I'm pretty sure he's comfortable where he is right now.

Did you watch the interview video? He sounded stoked and, as Sol put it, down to earth.
He'll make a great Sarge in my mind. Was fun hearing him talk about playing the series back in the 90s. That and Karl Urban's comment on being able to use both the weapon and torch (flashlight) simultaneously in the film unlike in the game.

I was in the middle of downloading the interview when I made that post. After watching it he did sound pretty happy to be there. However, I still have my reserves about the movie. It just looks too much like Alien vs. Predator to me which was terrible.

If anybody has seen the new trailer it shows the first person segments of the movie. Seeing these elements just makes me even more skeptical. It depends on how much of the movie consists of these first person elements (which are horribly animated in my opinion). I would not want to watch much of these first person elements because it would seem a lot more fun to actually play the game anyway because of the higher interactivity. And besides, how long could they keep it interesting? Hopefully these first person camera shots won't overtake the movie.
