I made this for the contest. Hope you enjoy!
Avalons quest (http://msu.edu/~santia28/hgl/Hellgategame.html)
Please feel free to critique. BTW: I know the menus are crappy, i did them in like 10 min :p
Anything you'd like to see in maybe a second installment? I know you wanna see this guy:
http://msu.edu/~santia28/hgl/shockminion.gif He would have been in this one, but I didn't have time to implement him. But I think the zombies do just fine on their own.

Ooooh, a sequel? : D I would definitely like to see a similar thing. Maybe another type of gun or spell and a boss? Maybe another character level or two or maybe that's asking a bit much. I love the first one though. Great work!

Very nice that was fun to play. It would be awsome if you made another one.

What I would like to see in a possible followup is a different setting. A lovely, undamaged park doesn't seem very Hellgate London.

Thanks guys. I am planning on making another one, but it'll have to wait because classes are keeping me busy :( unless of course HGG throws up another contest :D Meanwhile, feel free to make any comments/critiques or if there's anything else you'd like to see in the next one?
So far, this is what I plan to add:
- Choose to play one of two characters (basically different powers and weapons)
- Level set in the city and sewers
- Hopefully more monsters
- Hopefully better looking menus

LOL this is true. It's because the deadline was aproaching fast so I told my gf to come up with some kind of level while I was programming the engine :p and that's what she came up with.
I MEAN it's undammaged because it takes place early on in Avalon's life... and the park has no significant value so the demons didn't go there yet and it's only filled with the wandering undead :D

This was great! Fun time, and a very impressive programming job!
I had a few issues with hitting the zombies....I'd click ON them and it didn't seem to do anything, so then I targeted just in front of them and they died. Not sure if this is the game or my browswer though :)

Well the way it works is that the bullets fire in a straight line from your character towards the targeting recticle. The first thing that crosses that line will register as a hit. On the other hand, if you put the recticle between you and a wall, the bullet will go straight through to hit the wall. Sometimes what I find is that if a zombie is standing next to a wall and you are somewhere along the wall, the bullet's hitbox will register a hit on the wall destroying the bullet before it can hit the zombie. In this case, you should be able to slightly move the recticle away from the wall and still hit the zombie.
I'll try to make this less of a hassle. Thanks for the input!

Ah! Well there's my programming tidbit of knowledge for the day. That's really cool that that's how it works...I mean, a bit frustrating in-game, but very cool :D

Haha "You win!!!!!111" I lol'd.
If I were you, I'd hold off on adding new features and make the visuals more attractive. And make character control smoother.
