eLLO^^ every1!!!!!!!!!!!
hmm... finally done with some sketches, tho never had time to turn them into completed drawings.. but anyhow i still like sketches more! they look better! don't u agree? =D
Had helluva hard time converting these things into digimedia. Started off with REALLY BAD scanner. had to tamper with them im photoshop till the lines became visible(or at least to me =P) Then, scanner broke down. Refused to cooperate with my uber hot tempered PC(that shuts itself down for no apparent reason every 40 minutes or so and only reboots when u give a good humping)
resorted to using this antiquated digi cam which was past down from generations since my great great grandfather's great grandfather walked the earth. i bet u'll never find this camera in the world right now cuz even a 0.3 megapix cellphone beats it flat. =)
so i guess i'll just NOT post the sketches taken by the digi cam here. *grins fiendishly* LOL.
C&C most welcome!

I like it, you have really solid form. The muscle lines and such on Mr McDemon are very nice, and the face is sweet. Maybe a little more detail on the rest of the body, but hey, it's a sketch. Well done!
Also, hehehe...dentures.

Thanks every1 =) for the C&C..
Hmm.. i don't think i will be having any background as these are more concept sketches than illustrations... If i were to do illustration then i would prabably have to do the entire thing in photoshop or corel painter but i don't have the time.. i couldn't even finish my sketches by the deadline.. lol. wish i wasn't bogged down by all the crap that im doing now.
Anyways, heres another 2!

More cool stuff, I hope they don't take you up on any ideas so we don't have to fight the fish...I hate water combat. Yeah it's unfinished and would look coolER with more detail, but hey if that's all you have time for, it's still spiffy.

I like the denture quote on the first one.
The second had a cool head and face.
The third; how about flying demonic fish coming out of the water when you are crossing a bridge or too close to the water?!

Have you ever considered a career as a concept artist?

Heya hi and thanks all again :D
Waa: i guess that demon fish can fly cuz it's got really big fins! but maybe not for long periods, prolly like 5 seconds in the air hahaa.. it has a beer belly :)
Shay: u can do better than this! drawing is all about practice. and observation. u dont need to go to sch to learn all these. all my drawings paintings and sculptures are self taught :D learning how to use different equipment is important too. but for the most part i use mechanical pencils. lazy. haha.
SgtPepper: hmm i wanna be a concept artist. but right now concept art isnt really my forte. im more of a portrait guy. that's my strength i feel. haha. But im keen on becoming a game designer. Have u see In3r7ia's art?? the cabalist drawing in the inner sanctum? he's my good fren and also an aspiring game designer :D we hope to be able to realise that dream together :D
Anyhow, here are 2 more sketches!
The one with many heads is sorta inspired by Dungeons and Dragons. Tho i only found out that D&D was my inspiration AFTER started rendering it. As always. no time to finish it because half way thru the drawing i had another monster concept so i quit. Bad rendering i know. big mistake making it D&D style. lol

drawing is all about practice. and observation.
Ouch - getting my own words back. ;)
I said the same to a guy who had problems painting his miniatures.
As soon as it gets to paint/draw something in 2D i'm just to impatient for that. Buildings (http://img88.imageshack.us/my.php?image=unbenannt4wp.png) or maps (http://img146.imageshack.us/my.php?image=valon5tm.png) for a RPG are no problem for me, same goes for miniatures.
Anything else is not my thing... I simply don't get anything right (proportions, size, shadows, etc.) - as i said i'm too impatient.

If I were given the choice which people to evacuate to the undeground and save from the demons, I would leave YOU and every other artistically inclined person outside, smuthered in ketchup, for the demons, out of sheer spite.
I could barely draw trees when I was younger and I have shaky hands, so I passed drawing classes for being so goddam cute and having all As at the other subjects :D
The first one is the best as a concept, but the second one is more detailed and actually dynamic, I think. The first one reminds me of a dragon (maybe Draco from that movie with Sean Connery's voice) or the things from Reign of Fire.

Shay: ya u really need patience. that's something i lack as well. each sketch only commands like 10 minutes of my time. If a sketch exceeds 10 minutes chances are i wont complete it. I generally cant sit still for more than 20 minutes. So my drawings are rarely complete.
Azurewrath: someday u will take that all back. Cuz u'll be so good that someone else will serve u up to the demons as main course. lol :p
Again here's another sketch. heee...

u SHOULD continue! drawing to me is like a hobby tho i havent drawn these in quite a while.. so we're really similar! i don't draw often so the only way to improve is by looking at the works of others. it really does help if u observe the details and strokes used by fellow artists or masters.
and u use tissue/tortillon to smudge the graphite? That's a nifty technique but u need to spend lotsa time to master it. It can help to produce photo realistic drawings ;)
I rarely use smudging anymore cuz i uas mech pencils mostly. Now use like painter and photoshop CS for coloring haha. using acrylics/watercolor/chalk pastels/oil/charcoal is too messy altho i feel certain effects can only be achieved by using these.
Anyhow, thanks for sharing these pics with me :D i really like the spiderman one and how u draw the hands! :D

Thanks lotsa for the positive feedback! :D
Initially i was thinking of doing a complete masterpiece in graphite which wouldve taken me roughly 4-6 hours, but i had too many designs in my head so i decided to take on the game design approach. I guess in game design sketches would suffice but i rendered a few sketches partially to give them more dimension for better visualization.
Currently dying from the amount of work i have. Everyones asking me to do stuff for them.. sigh..

hmmm. u mean the dred Overlord? Yep that one is sorta a dragon demon. And the multiple head guy grows more heads and arms after devouring other demons. There's no limit to how many heads it has! Just keeps growing larger after each meal!
Heres another sketch, altho is almost fully rendered. A tad too much black at some areas but anyway i always over-model my creatures lol. I normally do the highlighting after ive completed modeling. I think the original is darker than the scanned.

thanx ya! Yeah i spent about an hour or so just getting that done. hahaa. couldn't figure out wat kinda hands it should have so i decided to give him some spikes for fingers lol. This was the 1st piece i did for the contest but i found that the design was not up to standard, and i had many more concepts in my head, each clamouring for my attention.
Besides if i really sat down with a pencil and paper i practically come up with new monster designs every few minutes(on fairly 'inspirational' days that is) This is also the reason why i seldom have complete drawings.
Im thinking of 2 new concepts right now as i type this msg. lol. they just keep popping. Sometimes i wish they would just stop cuz i realleh dont have the time. It really sucks when u have a good idea and u forget it later on cuz u have no time to take it down. :(

Waabulo: hihi! haha i love answering questions!
Ans to What formal training have you had?:
i dont have any formal training. I started off drawing dinosaurs when i was a kid then i went on to drawing humans. I got bored of both somewhere during my secondary education so i decided to try monsters (inspired by D&D) since there aren't many rules, if any at all, governing the anatomy of monsters and subsequently how they should be drawn. Only the basic shading and modeling rules apply. :D
Ans to Are you planning to work in the gaming industry as an artist?
Yes. definitely. Altho it has almost nothing to do with wat im studying right now i would love to work in a gaming company. Have u see the colored drawing of a Cabalist under inner sanctum page 5? Its done by Inertia, my buddy from the same class in school. We plan to work on game design after we graduate :D

Ummm. she's not a drawing. i definitely havent reached that standard yet in colors and i rarely use colors these days(thus i rarely improve).
For me to render something like that in pencil will take up to 30 hours using tortillon and tissue. There are master artists that take almost 100 hours to draw a portrait but looking at the final product u prolly cant tell whether the portrait is actually a drawing or a photograph.

Deis that is sick man. That's amazing the level of detail you added within an hour lol. That would probably take me like 3 hours and that's if I got the proportions right. I use to be all about the detail in art till I lost interest in it and just draw every now and then. But this brings back some memories and makes me want to draw again since I love detail so much lol. If you continue to do more work like this I am sure a comic book company or game company would pick you up as part of the team without even thinking it over first lol.

Seen all of Deis' sketches on paper, and trust me they look even better there. Other than the problem of non finishing his drawings, a trait of which I emphatize with, he rocks as a monster designer.

Is the perspective off? Or is his face just kinda lopsided? I can't tell. Anyways, you still draw them nasty as ever.
ps. draw one with a boob on his forhead XD
you could tell! :D The perspective IS off. its right eye isnt supposed to be where it is now. Yup didnt feel like correcting that mistake haha. U have a sharp eye :D i didnt use construction lines so sometimes i draw off perspective. (sometimes with the lines it also gets out of hand lol)
And ummm. i dun think i like e idea of boobs on the head... i still like them down here where they are.

ya i did. when i was a kid. not anymore tho. life drawing = money = porn(in my moms opinion) so when u have to pay for porn its a definite no goer.
and yupz will try to draw everyday. currently its like a biannual thing. lolz. heee

That reminds me of a family guy line "Do i... Do i... do i draw the penis?" "Do i... do i... do i scuplt the penis?" "Do i... do i... do i conduct with my penis?"

half completed manga poster. bad linework and shabby brushing for the background black. 70% complete and i wont have a chance to complete it. just posting here in case u guys wanna see. not fantastic. took me quite some time to figure out how to use screen tones. complete piece took like 16-18 hours? 10 hours just to do the tones. lol
