lol Liberty you need to like... watch the videos they say that it's gonna be out when its gonna be out. Bill said something like "When the game is ready it will tell us." which is a perfect explaination. A good game shouldn't have a time limit (unless its Duke Nukem cuz wtf, i dont see it yet and its been like 10 years since the announcement lol).

You need a time machine for Alphas hehe, but Beta i can see coming like Open Beta or a Closed # of Testers invited. A lot of companies invite off of local forums and the most active have the most chance :) Seeing as you're a cool cat you're gonna hang around a long time so i see a great chance for al of us to get in heheh, I can't wait :)

Sometime last month Gamespot placed the release date for sometime in November of this year, but they had retracted that date and placed a TBA (To Be announced) in it's place. My suggestion for the release date, like everyone else theorized, is that it will be released mid to late 2006. I think it would be hella cool if it was released around May or June of next year since June 14th is my birthday. But I do also understand if they need extra time for the lengthy good 'ol "Spit polish" that Blizzard is known for doing, to make sure everything is as good as it can be in the game and that it will be as buggy free as possible. I think I speak for everyone when one of the biggest annoyances of game releases is that a patch is released or underway when a game has just been released.

Nobody is really sure where the "November 11, 2006" date came from. Some guy at EB Games must have put it up by accident, or seeing the hype that the game was receiving from magazines after E3, thought it would be a good idea to make money off the preorders.

I would see aiming for a 2006 christmas release, imo Christmas and Beginning of Summer is the best times, I'm sure they all know this but basically.

They won't release it crappy or early. I don't think Namco would ever want them to release early and risk not having a smash hit.

But the only time you can set a release date this early is a deadline by the parent company etc. I don't see this kind of thing for FSS like A.N etc..

btw did VUG ever force a release of a Blizzard game? Like for instance WoW? If anyone could tell heh, most of time the only way to see if a game was forced out early, is the number of critical bugs that remain.

BTW early releases are about the dumbest things ever, because they will be buggy and usually no warrant the same investment into patches. So odds are it's better to just release quality. Unless the game is unsavable MOO3 where it is just a terrible hodgepodge game of taken out features and terrible AI (which was fixed by fans later).

Now there's a lot of threads asking simple quesitons such as release date etc. Now this post was before Dac assembled an impressive FAQ so maybe we can sticky his FAQ and add onto it etc. That way people dont have to fish around the forums for an answer it will be right infront of their eyes when they come here :D

The network code for WoW is incomplete or at least unoptimized, I believe. That's why there's still a lot of server crashes, and why they need so many servers.

Considering the hughe amount of work still to be done i do not expect the game to be relased before end of 2006.

In fact, i expect it somewhere Mid / End 2007.

So 2 years development sounds reasonable.
