Up until this past weekend, I have not had any problems with the game.

However, upon reaching the end of A5 and Hell, boy did I get the double whammy of screw ups.

First, the end of A5, taking the 'tests'. I get through tests 1-4 just fine, with no problems. I arrive at Test #5, and start moving through it. so far so good.
All of a sudden, I see this giant Robot in the middle of the road. I'm told to use the Robot to "clear the road". Heck, the map is even called "Ploughyard", considering I'll be ploughing away.

So, I load up into the Robot, and start moving down the street. The first monster I encounter is an Epic Orbital. So I lay into him, boom, boom, boom with the robots massive artillary. After about 50 shots, I look at the health bar....virtually untouched.
I rip into him again...ratatatatat! Again, nothing. Finally, I see that by pressing the 0 key, I can exit the Robot, so I do.

Ohhhhh, look at this, my character is now completely invisible, and the Robot is gone! Suddenly, my swords appear, but they're at a 90 degree angle.
Meanwhile, I can still move and fight because my crosshairs are still present and accounted for.

Oh, and that Epic Orbital that took nearly 100 rounds from the Robot? 2 swipes of my swords and he exploded.

What in the heck is the point of loading you up in the Robot if it's the equivalent of downgrading your weapons to peashooters?
Utterly ridiculous. Next time, I won't even get in the stupid robot.

Now, let's move onto screwup #2.

I enter Hell, and take on the 5 lies. I kill the 5th, and suddenly...Whamm-o!, there's Sydonai.

Syd and I duke it out, bcak and forth. I whittle him down, but just as I strike my killing blow, he does the same. And so I die, and my headstone overlooks a whole giant pile of delicious looking loot. (2 uniques, and at least 2 legendaries)
The little end game cinematic rolls, and I wait patiently.
finally, it ends, and I figure..ok, now I'll finally get to pick up my fat lootz.

Ummm, no think again.
I was given no option to restart as a ghost, no options what-so-ever. the only thing I could do was restart the game. Which of course meant....lose mah fat lootz.

So come on, what the heck is that crap?

Actually there is a bug I noticed with the robot- if you exit it and turn invisible as described (I was also a templar (guardian)), you keep the bot's hp, though it only lists your own. I went through like a tank using my own skills taking no damage...
That was more fun than using the robot itself...

You have to get into the stupid awful worthless robot to advance the game.

Invisible invincible mode is classy as well. Built in cheatzzzzzzzzzz

When i played i never used the robot after the first attempt it sucks so badly it hurts. Although i would have had i known it made you super-hard when you exited it... another bug in HGL surely not

And thats some bad luck on Sydonia, although i wouldnt worry to much, i guarantee at least one of those Uniques was a mind control weapon (which are utter poo and very common) and the other was probably Sydnoias Thorax

I don't think you actually need the robot to progress, I blew the fucker up by going kamikaze into a pack of champion furies. Next go around I ignored the piece of shit popped some pills and rushed the portal hard, and it worked like a charm.

Heh, mine was -- I came to this Ploughyard map, then as mindless as ever started ploughing the whole mobs in the map. Along the way, I saw this one giant robot and thought it looked kinda cool. Down the last mob.

"Fuck, that's a fucking long way back."
[runs back to the starting point]
"Chap, your next missionaire -- haul your pretty ass into the robot and mow the street."
"...."

The robot was hilarious it was so absolutely useless....I laughed at how funny it was. All that work to include it in the game and it was a joke!

Edit: Do you think the robot was intentionally useless as a element of comic relief?

I wish.

In Ask Murmur! during that quest, Murmur is a pessimistic prick and says stuff like: "Oh noooo there is no way anyone could get past all these guys woe to us all is lost." Despite having constantly proven you're a wreckin' machine.

And then you come up to the robot: "YESSSSS Face-rape Boy and his master have saved us all with their kkkkkrraaaaaaazy shenanigans! Oh lord bless that man."

...

I don't know why anyone would want to be intentionally incompetent.

The whole set up and presentation in the game is just laughable. This particular instance proves it...

Similar thing happened to me with Sydonai. Do the devs care? Probably not.

i liked the killer robot. my evoker was a little too low level so after fighting hard through the entire street one killing machine wasn't an unwelcome sight.

he got pwned by some summoner. my robot died maybe 25 meters from where i picked it up. didn't suprise me at that point though.

I had the exact same two issues and I complete agree. I was unable to pick up my drops from the end boss too due to the cut scene and I probably lost some nice ones.

The only good thing about that level is that we see 314 getting one on Lucius for once.

Also, I believe the main problem with the robot is its accuracy. The robot misses with just about every shot. Allow direct 1st person targeting, and we'd see just how useless it is.
