"More alive" doesn't exist. It's either alive or it isn't...

Judging by the hole in its forehead, I'd say the chicken is more dead....

Hellgate: London. It's a perfectly acceptable (if finicky) dungeon crawler that most people expected to be more than it was.
Now here is my opinion.
Hellgate is more alive with fried chicken.
Because you would... you know... starve to death if you play Hellgate without fried chicken. Kind of logical.
 Nothing beats fried chicken wings.

Apparently the folks at Gameaxis have short memories, WoW's launch made Hellgate's launch look flawless, for those of you who never played, or who need a reminder...as a point of reference a 600 man queue usually takes 20-30 minutes to get through.

I won't even go into how buggy the game was back than, or all of the features they decided not include until nearly a year and a half later. Vanguard also had a much worse launch, as did Fury, and I don't even think Tabula Rasa's went over well. So I guess my point is if your game doesn't have a Blizzard logo slapped to it and is tagged as an MMO you might as well have just shit in the box and shipped it out, because you'll get no love from the press.

And how I knew Fury put the hurt on them, but apparently it did more than that, it effectively killed the entire studio
I have no idea what in the hell convinced them that creating a pvp centric game would be a sound move after what happened to Shadowbane. I would say it's a poor omen for Warhammer, but they are under EA's wing and at least they have known franchise with a incredibly deep source material and other aspects to their game.

They apparently aren't playing the same game as me...
Id hardly call the very occasional network server error disconnect being 'plagued by problems' cause thats the only noticable problem I and many others now experience...

I dont really know what kind of WoW some people have been playing, but aside from huge problems that were caused by Blizz not knowing how to properly handle servers and the huge unexpected load on those servers, there where almost no real bugs especially for a game that size. I played 10h a day so it seems highly unlikely I missed all of the bugs by accident. There was the occasional falling through the world, but not one single lock up or one single getting stuck. Neither where there any errors in the quest that would make it impossible to complete them. All the major patching to content was done before I even got to the specific content and I did go very fast. The game had zero rememberable bugs or glitches at least for me :). Perhaps they gave me a special copy though.
On to the game fried chicken is more alive since it still sizzles if you take it right out of the pan!

Precisely, the moment I threw in another stick of ram is the same moment I stopped having issues with HG:L. I did that about 2 weeks ago and have only had one network error, and that was because there was something wrong with my liverpool station file (I'm assuming this because it patched that same exact file when I tried to reconnect) and this is in about 40 hours of play.

a game that was made in 2005 should NEVER require 4gb of ram.
also, i cant see hellgate on xfire no more and can imagine that it has droped players imensly.
also, i remmember times when there were 9xx users reading general discussion. now the maximum people reading that is 150
many of the people i saw here before release also all left. i think it is because hellgate did not fill up their expectations and they did not want to look stupid so just went away.

That and the fact that some probably went to the official forums, and many more are what i call 'game launch whores'
You know the types, they hang around forums for months, years sometimes, get into Beta then the complaining starts, then the game releases and they leave to find another Beta to get invited to, and the cycle continues, this happens with all games...

^Plus I think a lot of the older members just followed the hype train too much, as they are the ones who were here for all the ads and so on that HGL produced, so you'd think their expectations were way too high so they would be the most disappointed ones...
It's the new people with lower expectations that I'd expect to see around now, and the other people coming back only when the game reaches it's potential...

Potato salad.
I have no idea what in the hell convinced them that creating a pvp centric game would be a sound move after what happened to Shadowbane.
It was pretty hilarious - Guild Wars tried to appeal to a "PvP niche" that doesn't exist, but did manage to attract a sizable portion of the people who want a no-sub "MMO" (World of Warcraft). Nobody really gives much of a damn about the PvP in that game on the whole, and Arena.net has decided to chase after a market that exists in World of Guildcraft 2.
I do respect the product they've made despite a few bad turns in their vision over the years: does this mean Starcraft > Diablo?

So the "PvP niche" doesn't exist. Where did you get that data? O_o
On http://xfire.com/ I see that the 10 most played games (but warcraft) are all pvp.
The goal of A.Net was just to sell a game, and to build a strong community around it, to sell future products. They thought that a challenging PvP was the only way to do it, since they hadn't the resources Blizzard used to create the huge world of Wow.
GuildWars was supposed to end for PvE players, at the end of the story.
People often forget that A.Net doesn't have any gain if you continue to play the game, since you don't pay subscriptions. They only need players think that GW is worth its price.
Later they discovered GW was longevous also for PvE players, and so they stimulated this aspect introducing PvE titles and areas suitable for grinding.
p.s. Blizzard added arenas to increase Wow longevity.
Or people like me who quietly followed the game for years, but who's expectations where realistic and achievable.
I've followed the game since Roper left Blizzard: I was waiting for a fun hack'n'slash with an epic story. Do you think my expectations were so high?

Yeah I'm getting lazy the less interested in the game/forums I get. Honestly even the forums are just not any fun or worth it any more and I haven't loged into the game in over a month.

Yeah forums are dead like the game, just got perma banned from them. Meh, guess they don't have a sense of humor. :o
I lost my Hellgate CD during a move - not concerned as it's such lameness why even bother logging in anymore.
