View Full Version : Not really London

Am I the only person in London who gets annoyed that the places are actually not like the reality? Made worse by the details the game does get right (I love the help points on the underground platforms). But they could have gotten some more details right.

I doubt very much that you're the only one this has annoyed at some point.
It would have been nice to at least see some properly rendered set pieces, but then it doesn't really bother me. What does annoy me is the lack of variation in the tile sets (which FSS is apparently aware of and looking to fix).
I'm all burnt out here, it's been discussed too many times. Try the search function.

Stonehenge is nowhere near London but yet it's being released in 1.0 so I wouldn't be too concerned with the game's geographical accuracies or inaccuracies lol.

Well, London could change a bit in the next 30 years and end up looking like that... :D

Well, you do actually get portaled there so that is beside the point. : / There's a huge blob of a portal that you enter inside templar base.

I guess if you're a yank, or have only seen London in movies, or pictures it would be a fairly accurate portrayal. I can't comment any further though, because any opinion I put forth would be in sheer ignorance. Now if this game was Hellgate: Phoenix I might have a gripe or two.

I'm pretty sure the streets of any city in the world isn't a long endless canyon of identical buildings.
I think some of them have gas stations and cemeteries and swimming pools in them and such.

Well I did Covent Garden Market and the British Museum Sunday night and I have to admit they were really quite good. I especially liked how the British Transport Museum building is next to the Market as is the little church. The British Museum also has the revamped reading room (where you talk to Truth) and Lord Foster's glass roof. I was genuinly impressed.
I have to admit I'm looking forward to seeing where else I get to go. I somehow doubt they'll do an East End expansion where I can run around my home area of Walthamstow. So no demon fighting on the dog racing track!

Where in the real world is Chocolate Park? I think I got to it via Admiralty Arch so I think it is meant to be St James' Park.

More than likely the game designers were trying to make sure that, in the event of an actual demon apocalypse, the forces of evil wouldn't have this game to help plan our gruesome deaths. In fact, if anything, they should have made it even LESS like London. Or designed it around New York City but kept the original name the name, thus leading to more confusion. It's the only way to be sure.
