Not sure what to search to find the answer. If I have an item that raises a skill over its natural maximum (12/10 for example), what happens?
Thanks

Depends on the skill, some do give benefits even past their limit and some don't. From what I heard, most skills should give you the bonus. Examples of skills that don't, are the Marksman's Dead Eye and Escape skills. So, you have to experiment around a bit to find out which ones do and which ones don't. As a rule of thumb, though, I'd say generally no passive skills will exceed their limit even with items.

Rubix3 posted a similar thread about this, and was saying that all skills do exceed, and I pointed out that there are exceptions, so I'm pretty sure guardian auras fit in that passives rule of thumb I posted above.

Venom armor for evoker doesn't exceed max. Had bonus items for total of lvl 12, still only gave me lvl 10.

now that makes sense, since afaik u cant exceed the max limit of skills. doubt anyone can prove otherwise.
