hi all, ive played the game through once with my MM and now wanted to reroll him to an effective soloing machine seeing as nightmare in SP is so difficult

I used a trainer to get right to the end to see what the best armors are and find out a little more for which affixes i should be going for on the equipment and which weapons(to date i still cant find a better version of the arclight cluster rife - its my favorite ^^)

first thing first, armor - im looking at making a set from one of the three below(please see attachments)

quartermaster - high in armor, but high str req + shield penatration

military - cheapest in feed, bit of armor and shields, +evasion and movement speed

rifleman - no armor but damage and RoU increased

most would say the quartermaster for the armor but could the +evasion from the military armor not be more beneficial? +21 evasion is pretty good IMO

I'm interested in everyones opinion and will discuss skill choice later aswell as weapons

I am confused. I read the stats on your armour, but I have stuff thats close to it. And the level of the items are WAY lower. Different versions of the game perhaps?

Maybe I am wrong. I will log into my game later and double check...

They've just dropped from higher level monsters - the item level depends on the monster level.

I'd suggest Military mostly.

Quartermaster is the best, but really, you aren't going to get the necessary strength feed for it without lowering your MM's overall quality. You might be able to get a choice piece of this here and there.

Rifleman is shields only - pretty worthless for damage mitigation.... in SP, you don't have the option of someone standing in front of you, so you need your own armour rating.

Quartermaster is very tempting due to possible full Shield Penetration from clothing, but the Strength feed is somewhat annoying. Also, Quartermaster pants looks like your toon is wearing a diaper. Lastly, full Shield Penetration can be achieved from two mods alone.

Rifleman is also very tempting; very offensive, but in late NM monsters will make your Shields go poof in the blink of an eye, even with maxed Overshield.

I reckon Military is the better choice; a little bit of armor rating along with Evasion. Movement Speed will work both offensively and defensively. Military gear also look better than the other types of armor. ;)
