Day Nine
Something is really wrong with Austin. He's burning up, having hallucinations-the works. Now don't over react. It doesn't seem like hes going to die. It's just that we've been stuck in one place for an entire day now. It just isn't safe for us to do that.
Day Eleven
After Austin recovered we moved out of the house we had been in. Quickly too. Larger demons had been appearing in the city. Things that were fifteen feet tall were walking down the street, pushing trees over and flipping cars. That was our cue to exit.
There was no way to fight them. They could've killed us with a single movement. I don't know how we made it out of chicago without being killed. Well actually, i do. It was the water. They dont like it. We followed Lake Michigan north with our eyes peeled. Whenever anything we couldn't handle came along we ran into the lake and swam out.
Now this kept us alive, but there was a price. Our weapons. I found that i couldn't swimm with both my hammer and my clothes. I think it must have been the start of my sickness. I left the hammer behind. Dannys bullets were ruined and consequently so was his gun. We ditched it too, because if we did ever find bullets a gun would be nearby.
Luckily, we were not defenseless. L-J's knife was easy to keep with us even though he did drop it in the lake several times. And we still had Austin's sword. I don't know how he managed to swimm after having been so sick just hours ago.
We left the beach once we could no longer see The Sears Tower. Our first priority was shelter. We were tired and i was getting sick. But shelter is easy to find along the lake front-everyone wants to live there. We broke into an especially large house that thankfully did not have an alarm. No would have answered it, but the noise they make doesn't stop. Its annoying as hell. Five minutes later i pased out on a couch.
I was woken up three hours later by a whispering L-J. "Wake up. Here, take this. We gotta get out of here. No don't go back to sleep! Austin get over here and help me carry him."
