Windows Vista required?
Feb 13, 2006
Hellgate: London will work on both platforms. (XP and Vista)
General Hardware/Software Information/Requirements
March 8, 2006
A Hardware T&L videocard? Homeboy, are you crazy? That's been a requirement for a long ass time now. You can't find a 3D game made today that doesn't at least require a GeForce card...at least. If you're still trying to play on a TNT you probably have to upgrade right now, dude.
As for what will specifically be required. I honestly have no damn idea yet. But we want to be accessible, so we're going to have the "cheap" scaled down version of all the graphics in the game everyone can play. It shouldn't be too much to handle.
(I just love this response. –northrop-)

1. Dual core CPUs are not currently supported, but that may change as development progresses. There's no way of knowing right now. Obviously we want to do everything possible to improve performance, but we have to worry about how much work this will take and how much it will cost.
2. We don't have final system requirements laid out. My 2.0GHz, 2GB RAM, GeForce 7800 Go Dell laptop runs the game wonderfully at every setting, even max detail 1680 x 1050.

1. Hellgate will support Dolby Digital 5.1 when it releases.
2. [On copy protection; referring to StarForce]I have no idea what we're planning on using, or even if we have those kinds of plans made at this point.

Yeah, Hellgate will run fine on the 6 series and X800. More than fine, actually. I run on a GeForce 6800 Go Laptop and Hellgate swims, no problem.

Q.Will you release Hellgate: London on CD’s or DVD’s?
A.Don't know.
Hellgate: London: Collector’s Edition
Feb 17, 2006
I know we're planning an eventual collector's edition that I can't officially confirm, but as to what it will include...I honestly have no idea. I don't think anyone knows yet, actually. Now, if Flagship wants to include anything I create in the collector's edition, the company certainly can, but no plans have been made. We want behind-the-scenes video content in there at the least. I know that much.
April 20, 2006
There will indeed be a Collector's Edition. I'm actually the one making it! Though aside from an ton of behind-the-scenes video and art on an extra disc, I have no idea what's going to be included in the package.
April 28, 2006
Q.Any plans to include special items or anything for those who buy the collectors edition?
A.Not sure about the in-game items and whatnot. Right now the bonus disc is all behind-the-scenes content and videos and art. It'd be nice if we could put something cool in there, though.
In-game Advertisement
Feb 27, 2007
We don't have any plans for in-game advertising, but it is certainly possible (technologically speaking).
Personally, I don't see any problem with a post apocalyptic Coke ad that looks appropriate, but I doubt many marketers would approve of that. In fact, I can't even imagine what the approval process would be like for in-game ads with class. A game developer would want to maintain the vision of the title, but a marketer would want Kleenex as big and obvious as possible. Seems like that would present a real conflict of interest which would ultimately lead one side to make concessions they might not otherwise have wanted to.
April 28, 2006
We won't do anything if it doesn't look good in the game. But if someone wants to pay us to do something we were planning on doing anyway -- to recreate a devastated London you must incorporate the recognizable, which may include urban advertisements -- then I'm sure we're all for it.
But to directly answer your questions, while we've had offers pitched at us in regards to in-game advertising, we haven't signed any deals simply because we wish to maintain control over our product.
Support for other platform
Feb 27, 2007
We have not announced anything regarding a potential console version of Hellgate, but in today's marketplace anything is possible and we're always open to the possibility.
March 3, 2006
No information. But we have always supported Apple in the past. Hopefully we'll be able to again.
March 8, 2006
I have no idea whether or not we'll support Linux, but I doubt it.
Widescreen Resolution
March 3, 2006
Q.Will HGL ship with native widescreen support (WSXGA would bei nice)?
A.It will, yes. There're already widescreen modes in the game.
Game Rating
April 28, 2006
While we still officially boast an RP, our game will assuredly be M for Mature... Dudes explode into giants chunks of flaming meat. I don't see how there's any escaping that. |
