Twilight of the Pre-Release Era: Some Words From Scapes
Exactly three months ago, I sent out an email to more than twenty fansite operators using what was dubbed “Scapes’ Alpha Alert System,” announcing that the first alpha invites for Hellgate: London were being sent out. Two months ago, the beta launched and testing was brought to an entirely new level. And now, today, I believe we may have reached what could be the last pre-release email I send out across over a dozen fansites to announce that the Hellgate: London demo has been hosted on GameDaily.com, a momentous day for fansite operators, Flagship Studios, and the community at large.

In addition to the news alert, I included a small personal message of thanks:
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you that I’ve interacted with over the course of the past three years. Between the concerted fansite efforts, sharing of content and news, and all-around sense of camaraderie that we, the core of the fanbase, generate, I believe that the Hellgate: London community will be known to be one of the most welcoming, rewarding, and downright enjoyable that any gamer who ventures online can possibly enjoy.
And now, to finish up this sappy little news post as I have done with previous ones of this nature:
It’s October. It’s the demo. It’s time for the HG:L pre-release fanbase to welcome the rush of new members to our international community with open arms. Oh, and to kick it.

Best wishes to you all. Rock on, Hellgaters, rock on.
